JOSERA and social responsibility

JOSERA is dedicated to fellow humans and future generations around the globe:
With the ERBACHER-FOUNDATION and Family Cooperation for Food, JOSERA actively supports development projects around the world. Our region is close to our heart as well. This is why JOSERA prefers regional employees and raw materials.

Worldwide Commitment

The ERBACHER-FOUNDATION

The ERBACHER-FOUNDATION was founded by the Erbacher family in 1989. Making life in the country worth living once again is the foundation’s leading objective, assuming responsibility for those who live in poverty.
In more than 30 countries around the world, the ERBACHER-FOUNDATION provides financial support for development projects in rural areas. These projects not only improve sustainable animal husbandry, horticulture and the drinking water supply, but also people’s nutrition and quality of life. They promote environmental and climate protection as well.
JOSERA employees have the opportunity to visit the foundation's projects and to participate in the foundation board.

Family Cooperation for Food

Distinct from the ERBACHER-FOUNDATION, the Family Cooperation for Food (FCF) initiative aims to improve food security and living circumstances in East Africa, with a particular focus on Tanzania. We strive to reach this goal by supporting local companies in developing sustainable and successful business models in the agricultural sector. In order to do so, we put our companies’ founded knowhow in the fields of nutrition and agriculture, as well as our experience from the past 70 years, to good use in the projects.

Currently, two projects are being run under the umbrella of FCF:

Firstly, the groundwork is being laid for a bakery in Njombe, in the Southwestern Highlands of Tanzania. In this initial planning phase, our interdisciplinary team is advising the local partners in the areas of baking techniques, energy supply, marketing and sales and business management. After additional support, most likely in the form of a loan, the goal is for the bakery to stand on its own as a successful, independent local business providing quality baked goods for the local market.

Additionally, we are planning to cooperate with dairy farmers in Tanzania with the aim of raising milk quantity and quality. In this project, JOSERA shall provide expert advice in the areas of dairy cattle management, calf-rearing, fodder growing/conservation and feeding techniques. We are currently in contact with family-based dairy farms in the Tanga and Iringa regions. The project is intended to be mutually advantageous: the Tanzanian dairy farmers will benefit from the expertise of JOSERA-ERBACHER, and the latter may potentially gain new Tanzanian business partners in the long run.

Regional action for a strong region

People from the region
In addition to numerous employees and service providers from the region, many of our employees are from the local area as well. By expanding the company’s site in Kleinheubach, JOSERA is creating and protecting jobs. We are making a key contribution to strengthening the Bavarian Lower Main region in doing so.

Raw materials from the region
Our mission is the sustainable and regional projection of high quality animal feeds on the basis of locally available resources. Under the DLG-Plus seal of approval, JOSERA mainly processes raw materials from the region and from Germany.
